All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive during booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In cases of any discrepancies, the Rental Agreement will take priority over these Terms.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle here requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Saddleworth, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the type of vehicle, with extra charges applicable for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Saddleworth office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. Please ensure the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as when picked up; refueling fees will be incurred if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, and related charges that occur during the rental period, plus an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to limit your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or any activities that may pose a risk. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose and within the specified passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Saddleworth will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total rental fees paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be settled exclusively in English and Welsh courts.
